An Indisputable Correlation?

What do you think of the following statistics I’ve seen published over the last few months.

From the DWP: 2.8million people are currently economically inactive due to health conditions. That’s 800,000 more than in 2019.

From the British Heart Foundation:  The UK’s heart health has declined more quickly at the start of the 2020s than any other decade for over 50 years.

Again, from the British Heart Foundation: There has been a 21% rise in the number of people diagnosed with heart failure in the UK, from 650,000 in March 2020 to a record high of 785,000 in March 2024.

From the protection insurer Unum: We have seen a 36% rise in cancer claims among the under 40s in just the last 12 months

From Healix the private health provider: There has been a 142% year on year increase in chronic benefits usage.

Again from Healix: In the last 12 months, there has been a 77% rise in menopause claims among women in their 30s.

From the Private Healthcare Information Network: Admissions to private hospitals for bowel cancer among patients under 50 have increased by 50% since 2021.

This is a significant and rapid deterioration in the health of the UK population since ‘Covid’ first hit the headlines.

To my mind, this represents an indisputable correlation.

The current lack of interest, urgency and investigation into the causation is shameful; but perhaps not surprising bearing in mind what might be at stake.
